I caught a male shiny Lv.67 Kadabra! Will its baby be shiny?

While hunting for lv.67 kadabras, I was lucky to find one, maybe way too lucky because I found a shiny one! My fleet was strong, so I carefull did a very small amount of damage to it, summoned mewtwo for nothing, and through 8 great balls and voila! A SHINY!! I named him shiny. I heard babies are passed down by father, or was that a lie?
